Radio One’s Parr, Alfredas to TV One

Two Radio One Inc. on-air personalities will lend their voices to promoting new African-American-targeted cable network TV One.

Russ Parr, host of the nationally syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show, and Alfredas, the show’s entertainment reporter and personality, will also host the network’s original dating-game show, Get the Hook Up, which is expected to debut this spring.

"Russ Parr and Alfredas will essentially serve as the voice and face of TV One, and we are delighted to make use of their tremendous talents," TV One president and CEO Johnathan Rodgers said in a release.

"We are fortunate to be able to capitalize on Radio One's established personalities, as well as its marketing prowess in promoting TV One to African-American adults," he added.

TV One -- primarily owned by Radio One and Comcast Corp. -- is scheduled to launch Jan. 19.
