Ratings Rush Continues As 'Jersey Shore' Nets 8.8 Million Viewers

MTV's Jersey Shore remains red hot with viewers, as Thursday night's installment fell just short of a new ratings mark.
The Jan. 27 episode averaged 8.83 million watchers, according to Nielsen data,down slightly from the record 8.87 milion the prior week.
Thursday night's program now ranks as MTV's second-most-watched series' telecast ever.
On the demo front, the show didn't miss a beat, delivering an 8.8 rating and 6.85 million persons 12 to 34, performances that equalled the series' and network's record with its broad demo group.
Earlier this week, MTV officials announced that the Jersey Shore housemates will take the show to Itay for a fourth season, with filming set to begin this spring and new installments to bow later in 2011.
