Niche video-on-demand service Mag Rack is set to rock with Ray Charles.
The Rainbow Media Holdings Inc.-owned service will offer special Ray on my Mind March 17-April 27, timed to coincide with the video-on-demand premiere of NBC Universal theatrical Ray March 18.
Ray -- which features Jamie Foxx starring as Charles -- was nominated for six Academy Awards, including “Best Picture” and “Best Actor” for Foxx.
Ray on my Mind will feature rare footage of Charles performing live on Brazilian television in 1963, Charles preparing Foxx for the role that garnered him a Golden Globe Award in Ray and keyboard instructional segments allowing viewers to learn how to play Charles' classics "What'd I Say?," "I've Got a Woman" and "I Can't Stop Loving You.”
"NBC Universal has a definite hit on their hands with Ray, and we're proud to be working with them to drive more fans to the on-demand premiere of this critically acclaimed film," Mag Rack senior vice president and general manager Dan Ronayne said in a prepared statement.
