Arts network Ovation will roll out on RCN in Boston next week.
RCN will launch Ovation’s standard- and high-definition channels, as well as its video on demand service on Dec. 20, significantly expanding its presence in the Boston DMA. The network has some 51 million subs nationally.
RCN subscribers in Beantown will be able to screen Ovation’s sixth annual “Battle of the Nutcrackers’” programming event, which showcases six different versions of the beloved ballet. An audience favorite for the past five years, the event also features an opportunity for viewers to vote for their favorite performance via Ovation’s Facebook page and at OvationTV.com. “Battle of the Nutcrackers” continues through Christmas Day.
“Ovation is the only channel in America that focuses on artistic expression, and as an independent network, we work hard to provide valuable and distinctive content and marketing support to fuel our continued distribution growth,” said executive vice president of Content Distribution, Brad Samuels, in announcing the upcoming RCN rollout. “RCN recognizes this opportunity and we commend their decision to support the arts and offer their viewers a high-quality, compelling viewing choice.”
