Reelz Channel has reached an agreement with DirecTV to make programming content available to the satellite provider as part of its video-on-demand marketing efforts.
The packages will consist of two- to-four-minute segments gleaned from Reelz's library of entertaining content about movies, including behind-the-scenes reporting, celebrity interviews and fan reaction. Each edited segment will focus on one of the top 10-12 VOD titles for a given month, giving DirecTV a chance to trumpet its on-demand offerings.
"Reelz Channel has found that movie-lovers respond strongly to our creative and informative coverage of movies," said John deGarmo, senior vice president, affiliate relations in a statement. "We're excited to team up with DirecTV and offer our distinctive programming to their VOD viewers in this fresh and exciting way."
