In a move to cater to the more than 6 million Hispanic
households it reaches, ReelzChannel is now offering a Spanish-language
Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) feed nationwide.
ReelzChannel's SAP feed is currently available on Time
Warner Cable in Los Angeles and all AT&T systems nationwide, reaching more
than 2.8 million subscribers. The company is hoping other cable distributors
will follow suit and enable the offering.
"Not long ago, we
realized that we had a huge Hispanic base that we were actually underserving,
so we decided to build up the capability," ReelzChannel CEO Stan E. Hubbard
told Hispanic TV Update. "We also
have enough programming to justify the investment."
Albuquerque, N.M.-based ReelzChannnel says it intends to
continue adding this capability, not only for its movie-related content but for
all of its programming.
That includes the upcoming miniseries World Without End, set to premiere Oct. 14, and the repeat of its
Emmy Award-winning miniseries The
Kennedys this fall.
