ReelzChannel has planned a promotion with real teeth: it's looking for the biggest fan of the Twilight series of young adult books about a teen vampire. The winner will be featured in an upcoming segment of its Dailies entertainment news show.
The search will be part of the strategy including ReelzChannel Twilight Week, Nov. 17 to 23, preceding the release of a theatrical adaptation of the first book in the series. Twilight was published in 2005, with the last in the series about young lovers Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen, Breaking Dawn, debuting this summer.
The series has kept author Stephenie Meyer on the New York Times best-seller list for 53 weeks.
ReelzChannel is urging fans of the novels to submit original videos up to five minutes in length, short essays or photos which demonstrate, in a creative way, their enthusiasm for the upcoming movie. Participation details are posted at http://www.reelzchannel.com/twilight , along with cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the production.
Submissions will be accepted through Oct. 31, with the winner taped for a segment on the Nov. 20 edition of Dailies.
