RFD-TV Snares Hunting License With Time Warner Cable

RFD-TV, LLC has signed a multiyear affiliation agreement with Time Warner Cable.
Deal terms under the hunting license were not disclosed, but the pact enables RFD-TV to negotiate with Time Warner Cable's systems.
Evidently, a number have already reached market accords with the agricultural and rural lifestyle service: a network spokeswoman said RFD-TV will announce rollouts with the operator next week.
"In an ever-overlapping marketplace, RFD-TV and RFD HD are proud of our unique, unduplicated and family-oriented programming," said Ed Frazier, CEO of RFD-TV and RFD HD, in a statement. "Our distinctiveness is built on remaining true to our mission of serving the rural American marketplace with high quality programming that touches agriculture, equine, rural lifestyle and country music entertainment."
Noted Time Warner Cable vice president of programming Susan Weinstein: "We're pleased about our partnership with RFD-TV. This is a great opportunity for us to provide high definition programming that highlights rural living."
RFD-TV, which has distribution agreements with such distributors as Comcast Cable, DirecTV, Dish Network, Charter Communications, Mediacom Communications, Suddenlink, Bresnan Communications and Verizon FiOS TV, counts more than 40 million subscribers.
In a recent interview, RFD-TV president and founder Patrick Gottsch said the network has been expanding, filling in the void left by The Nashville Network with rural viewers and those interested in that lifestyle. He anticipated the service would reach 50 million homes by year-end.
