The Adelphia Communications Corp. fraud trial was postponed Tuesday due to an ill juror.
Proceedings are expected to resume Wednesday, with defendant and former Adelphia director of internal reporting Michael Mulcahey completing his testimony, followed by the prosecution’s closing argument, AP reported.
According to AP, the trial is also expected to be interrupted at times next week to allow jurors to attend graduation ceremonies and to accommodate one juror's medical appointment.
Former Adelphia chairman John Rigas, his sons -- former chief financial officer Timothy Rigas and former executive vice president of operations Michael Rigas -- and Mulcahey are on trial for 24 counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, bank fraud and securities fraud. All four men have pleaded not guilty.
Former VP of finance Jim Brown pleaded guilty to conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud in November 2002.
