Cox Communications Inc. doubled president and CEO James Robbins' bonus in
2002 after the MSO met performance goals and gained more customers, it said in a
proxy statement Friday.

Robbins received a bonus of $1.1 million, up from $535,223 a year earlier,
Reuters reported.

The bonus was based on the company's revenue performance and increase in unit
sales for its basic-cable and advanced services, among other factors, Cox said
in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Robbins, 60, earned a salary of $1.1 million, up 12 percent from a year
earlier. He was awarded options for 400,620 shares, nearly 10 percent of the
total options granted to employees during 2002. In 2001, Robbins received
132,970 share options.
