Rocky Mountain VoIP for Comcast

Comcast Corp. rolled out voice-over-Internet-protocol service in metropolitan Denver Tuesday, according to AP.

The MSO is competing with incumbent telco Qwest Communications International Inc., and it overlaps 40% of Qwest’s territory. Comcast and Qwest also go head-to-head in Portland, Ore., according to AP.

Comcast said its VoIP service will cost about $40 per month for customers who also subscribe to its cable-TV and high-speed-Internet services.
