Rogers Extends Speed Deal

Rogers Cable Inc. and Speed Channel reached a new multiyear affiliate agreement, the two parties said Tuesday.

The deal also gives the Canadian MSO carriage of the network’s video-on-demand service, which offers 20 hours of programming including NASCAR TV On Demand’s 24-hour turnaround of post-race analysis and an event-highlight package, as well as Speed events and original programming.

“Canadian distribution is very important to Speed,” the network’s vice president of operations and business development Kevin Annison said in a prepared statement. “Not only are some of our top shows produced in Canada, but the fans are very passionate about their racing.”
