Newton, Mass. -- Glenn Rogers has been named executive vice
president of the Entertainment, Communications and Media Group of Cahners Business
Information. He will join the company Oct. 1.
The group of 26 business publications includes Multichannel
News, CED and Cablevision magazines, as well as Wireless Week,
which covers the wireless-communications industry.
Rogers, who will be based in New York and Los Angeles, has
more than 20 years of experience in consumer- and trade-magazine publishing. Most
recently, he was executive vice president in charge of telecommunications, entertainment
and information-technology publications at Advanstar Communications.
Rogers "has experience in every aspect of publishing
... Glenn has led teams in successfully acquiring a number of publications," said
Bruce Barnet, president and CEO of Cahners, in a prepared statement.
Rogers replaces Mark Lieberman, who is leaving the company
to pursue several venture opportunities in the entertainment, technology and media
markets. During his tenure, Lieberman was responsible for the integration of Multichannel
News, Cablevision and CED into the Cahners Entertainment Group.
"I have enjoyed working with ... the Multichannel
News team over the past year," Lieberman said. "They have been a great
addition to the Cahners Entertainment Group of Variety, Broadcasting & Cable
and Publishers Weekly."
"Working with Mark during the integration period over
the past 12 months has been a positive experience," group vice president Bill McGorry
"Glenn Rogers' solid publishing background and
familiarity with our markets ideally suits him to build upon the existing franchise, and I
look forward to working with Glenn in serving our present and future constituency,"
