Rogers Cable Inc. launched its “Rogers Hi-Speed Internet Ultra-Lite” service Friday.

The Canadian MSO’s low-cost high-speed-data alternative offers upload and download speeds of up to 64 kilobits per second for $19.95 per month -- roughly equivalent to the costs of slower dial-up services.

“With the recent launch of our ‘Rogers High-Speed Extreme Internet’ service -- offering a download speed of 5 megabits per second -- added to our other offerings of ‘Rogers Hi-Speed Internet’ and ‘Rogers Hi-Speed Internet Lite,’ the addition of Rogers Hi-Speed Ultra-Lite clearly solidifies Rogers as the provider with the most choice,” vice president of marketing John Munro said in a prepared statement.
