The “quadruple play” just got video.

Rogers Wireless Communications Inc., the sister company to Rogers Cable Inc., is launching Rogers Mobile Television in Canada, providing its customers with MobiTV video services, plus exclusive Major League Baseball Toronto Blue Jays in-game highlights, news, sports and entertainment programming.

The service is expected to be commercially available in the second quarter.

MobiTV content includes MSNBC, NBC Online, Discovery Channel, TLC, The Weather Channel and NBC Mobile, which will be available on certain Nokia Corp., Motorola Inc. and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB cell phones.

"Rogers Mobile Television puts real-time television programming, including Toronto Blue Jays games, right into the hands of Rogers Wireless customers, wherever they are," Rogers Communications Inc. CEO Ted Rogers said in a prepared statement.

The service will cost $9 per month for an introductory promotional period, plus additional data-transport costs of $10-$15 per month.
