Rogers Communications shareholders approved the company’s previously announced split of its class-A voting and class-B nonvoting shares on a two-for-one basis at a special meeting Friday.

Class-A and class-B shareholders of record as of the close of business Dec. 29 will receive one additional Rogers share for each share held.

The company said it expects its transfer agent, Computershare Trust, to distribute the additional share certificates on or about Jan. 5.
