Fox Sports Net has promoted David Rone to executive vice president, network development and rights acquisitions.

In this capacity, Rone -- who has been serving as senior VP, network development and rights acquisitions since joining FSN in 1999 -- is responsible for the strategic direction, financial analysis and negotiation of cable-TV rights acquisitions for the programmer’s 12 owned-and-operated regional sports networks from teams in the four major U.S. professional leagues, as well as collegiate conferences such as the Pacific 10, the Big 12 and the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Additionally, Rone is responsible for negotiating acquisitions for Fox College Sports, the suite of three services previously known as Fox Sports Digital out-of-home networks.

Rone -- who ranked 40th in Sports Illustrated’s “101 Most Influential Minorities in Sports” -- continues to report to FSN president Bob Thompson.
