Rosendahl Wins L.A. Race

The man who was formerly the most visible face of Adelphia Communications Inc. in Southern California has been elected to a seat on the Los Angeles City Council.

Bill Rosendahl, a local vice president for the operator, hosted a public-affairs show on Adelphia from 1987 to 2003, often featuring the council members with whom he will now serve.

In fact, nine of the sitting council members endorsed Rosendahl’s candidacy.

In a run-off election, Rosendahl defeated Flora Gil Krisiloff for the District 11 seat representing Los Angeles’ West side. Both ran for the seat formerly held by Cindy Miscikowski, who was barred from running again because of term limits. She endorsed Krisiloff to succeed her

One of Rosendahl’s first duties may be to determine whether it is a conflict of interest for him to participate in upcoming cable refranchising talks. All 14 city contracts are up for renewal and talks should include whether Time Warner Cable will be approved to take over systems now operated by Rosendahl’s former employer.
