Ross Inks Development Deals with Nick

Academy Award-nominated writer/producer/director Gary Ross and his Larger
Than Life Productions have signed production-and-development deals with Nick
Movies and Nick Jr.

Ross (Pleasantville, Big and Dave) will create a pilot
for an animated series for Nick's preschool block based on children's-book
series Morris the Moose. The animated show will track the adventures of
an enthusiastic talking moose.

The feature-film project, tentatively titled Imaginary Friend, tells
the story of a boy whose faux friend takes him out of the real world and into
his -- the animated universe of a child's imagination.

The project reunites Ross, who may direct, with Anne Spielberg, who will
write the script. They worked together on 1988's Big, for which Ross
received an Academy Award nomination for best screenplay.

Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, according to Albie Hecht,
president of film and TV entertainment for Nickelodeon, TV Land and TNN: The
National Network.
