Corey Ferengul, Rovi's executive vice president of product management and strategy, is resigning to pursue other business opportunities, the provider of digital entertainment technologies said in a regulatory filing Friday.
Ferengul's resignation will be effective Friday, June 29, and "is not a result of any disagreement with the company relating to its operations, policies or practices," Rovi said in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ferengul joined Rovi in May 2006 and has also served as the company's executive vice president of marketing and solutions.
Prior to joining Rovi, he was executive vice president of marketing at Infogix (formerly known as Unitech Systems) and was senior vice president and director of enterprise system management at analyst firm Meta Group.
According to Santa Clara, Calif.-based Rovi, more than 130 million viewers use its guide technology through service provider offerings and 219 million consumer-electronics devices include its on-screen guides. Rovi (formerly Macrovision Solutions) acquired Gemstar-TV Guide International in 2008.
