Rovi has hired Bob Ivins as senior vice president, business development, where he’ll be tasked with spearheading Rovi's data and analytics assets business.
Ivins will be based at Rovi's office in Radnor, Pa., and report to John Burke, Rovi’s EVP and COO, the former Arris and Motorola exec who joined Rovi earlier this year.
Ivins most recently was chief data officer at Mindshare, a global media agency, and is also late of Comcast, comScore, Yahoo! and Nielsen.
"As a widely recognized expert in data analytics, Bob is uniquely qualified to drive our initiatives to help grow our customers' businesses with insights and analytics based on Rovi data," said Burke, in a statement. "Bob's expertise in developing strategic partnerships around data analytics' opportunities will serve to advance Rovi's objective of being best-in-class and delivering more value to our customers globally."
