Home shopping channel ShopNBC said it named former Worldvision Enterprises
Inc. CEO John Ryan executive vice president of entertainment and licensing.
The channel, which recently changed its name from ValueVision, said in a
prepared statement that Ryan's focus will be to cut deals with entertainment
companies 'where complementary strategies in film, television, licensing,
merchandise and marketing converge utilizing TV and Internet commerce.'
Ryan spent more than 20 years at Worldvision, one of the top syndication
companies, where he oversaw a program library that included Dallas,
Bonanza, Love Boat, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose
