Scientific-Atlanta Inc. will get a slight revenue boost in the fourth
quarter, as it will be able to recognize $16 million in revenue from Cablevision
Systems Corp. for set-tops and headend equipment shipped, but not recognized, in
the third quarter.
S-A said it signed a "detailed supplemental agreement" with Cablevision,
which updated the original set-top/headend-equipment agreement with the MSO.
In addition to $16 million that will be part of S-A's fourth-quarter revenue,
the equipment manufacturer will recognize $2 million over the life of the
S-A-Cablevision contract for development, maintenance and support
