English-language Latino network Sí TV will debut Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez, Friday, April 8, the network said Wednesday.
The Warner Bros. theatrical, which chronicled the life of Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla, won several awards.
Sí TV will air repeat performances of Selena Saturday, April 9; Saturday, April 16; and throughout the weekends of April 23-24 and 29-30.
The network said it will commemorate Selena’s birthday April 16 with a special “Celebrate Selena” day, with special episodes of The Drop (featuring Selena’s brother) and Across the Hall (featuring Selena and Lopez).
“We are pleased to bring this inspiring story to our viewers,” Sí TV cofounder Jeff Valdez said in a prepared statement. “Selena is a role model for all people, but she holds a special place in the Latino community. We are elated that our audience will have the opportunity to learn about her life and her contributions.”
