Pace Micro Technology plc said it has extended its deal to supply Saskatchewan Telecommunications with advanced digital-subscriber-line set-tops that provide video services over the telephone company's network.
SaskTel is purchasing the “DB220S” set-top, joining the “DSL4000” set-top in the field.
The new box delivers MPEG-2 (Moving Picture Expert Group) video over an Internet-protocol network. Pace said the set-top can support a range of middleware, video servers and content-protection solutions.
SaskTel provides its subscribers with interactive-video services including video-on-demand and an interactive program guide. The telco’s other vendors include Harmonic Inc., Kasenna Inc. and Alcatel Alsthom.
