SBC Communications Inc. said it has deployed BroadJump Inc.'s 'Virtual Truck
Installer' to speed up digital-subscriber-line service installations and to
lower overhead costs.
Virtual Truck enables DSL customers to install the service themselves,
although SBC also offers the option of having the service installed
Essentially, BroadJump's software is bundled with a CD-ROM supplied by SBC,
which runs PC-requirement checks, handles default settings and installs standard
operating-system files for the DSL service.
BroadJump also has a similar product for cable-modem services, and it has
deployment agreements with AT&T Broadband, Time Warner Cable and Road
