SBC, Yahoo! Unveil DSL Service

Following through on a pact forged almost one year ago, SBC Communications
Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. have unveiled a new broadband service that combines Yahoo!
content with SBC digital-subscriber-line access.

SBC Yahoo! DSL, a custom, co-branded service, will be made available to 1.7
million DSL customers in SBC's 13-state region, along with recently announced
new data tiers.

SBC and Yahoo! signed a pact in November 2001 to develop the product, which
includes a customized browser; a package of premium services, including
navigation tools to help customers find broadband content; Yahoo!'s 'Super
Webcam' video instant-messenger service; 'LAUNCHcast' Internet radio service;
electronic mail, including remote access and spam filters; parental control;
multiplayer games; and additional centralized storage space for subscribers'
personal content and photos.

At the same time, a new set of service tiers will debut.

SBC Yahoo! DSL's basic offering will provide up to 384 kilobits per second
downstream and 128 kbps upstream for $42.95 monthly. 'SBC Yahoo! DSL Standard
Plus' offers between 384 kbps and 1.5 megabits per second downstream, 128 kbps
upstream for $49.95 monthly, and 'SBC Yahoo! DSL Deluxe' offers between 768 kbps
and 1.5 mbps downstream, 256 kbps upstream for $59.95.

A special launch promotion drops the fees for the first six months of service
to $29.95 for the lower two tiers and $39.95 for the top tier, all with free
modems and activation.

Higher-speed offerings and multiple static Internet-protocol addresses are
also available for big bandwidth users and businesses.
