MTV Networks announced the promotions of Herb Scannell and Bill Roedy Wednesday.
Scannell was named vice chairman of MTVN and president of Nickelodeon Networks, while Roedy assumes the titles of vice chairman of MTVN and president of MTVN International.
In addition to continuing to manage the overall businesses of Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TV Land, Noggin/The N and Spike TV, Scannell adds responsibility for overseeing the development of several new channels and multimedia offerings that will target and serve emerging and specialized audiences. He will also take on responsibility for key MTVN corporate functions including business development, human resources, law and business affairs, information systems and technologies and creative services.
Roedy will add investments and expansions into multimedia platforms to his duties overseeing MTVN International.
Both executives continue reporting to MTVN chairman Judy McGrath.
