The E.W. Scripps Co. attributed a 6.6 percent increase in revenue for its
Scripps Networks division in April to a strengthening of cable's scatter-ad
market.

It reported $34.6 million in revenue from the networks division, which
includes Home & Garden Television, Food Network, Do It Yourself and Fine
Living.

Overall, revenue for the company -- which also owns TV stations and
newspapers -- fell $1 million to $129 million.

Scripps also forecast an 8 percent to 12 percent increase in ad revenue for
May and June, increasing previous guidance of a 3 percent to 6 percent rise for
those months.
