Charter Communications Inc. named former Cox Communications Inc. executive
Kip Simonson vice president of sales and marketing, replacing senior VP of
marketing and programming Diane Schneiderjohn, who resigned for personal
reasons.

Simonson was previously VP of marketing and sales for Cox's Orange County,
Calif., region.

At Charter, Simonson will be responsible for all areas of sales and marketing
including pricing; distribution; branding and bundling strategy; creative
services; research and analysis; and all product management.

He will report to executive VP and chief operating officer Margaret
Bellville.

Schneiderjohn joined Charter in April 2002 from Carlsen Resources Inc.'s
global-media division, where she was managing partner.

From 1995 through 2000, she was senior VP for Turner International Asia
Pacific, establishing its marketing organization and advancing to oversee all
aspects of distribution sales for Turner products and networks, including Cable
News Network.

Prior to Turner, Schneiderjohn spent nearly 12 years with Viacom Inc.'s cable
division, where she served in a variety of marketing positions

Charter would not elaborate on why Schneiderjohn decided to leave, but
sources said she and her family wanted to return to San Francisco, where they
had lived prior to her stint with Charter.
