Schweir Joins Versus As SVP Production, Exec Producer

Versus has hired sports veteran Leon Schweir as senior vice president of production, executive producer.

Most recently with Big Ten Network, Schweir will oversee live event and studio production for all of Versus' properties, including the National Hockey League, IndyCar Series, Tour de France, college football and the Professional Bull Riders. He will be based out of the network's offices in Stamford, Conn.
Schweir joins Versus from the Big Ten Network, where he served as vice president of production and executive producer.
"Leaving a network that has achieved a unique level of success in such a short time was a difficult decision," Schweir said in a statement. "But what I find exciting is the opportunity to return to the east and be a part of the great momentum that Versus is currently experiencing."
Prior to joining the BTN, Schweir spent 26 years at MSG. In his most recent role at the regional sport network he was executive producer and vice president of programming, responsible for programming both MSG and FS New York.
"We are very excited to announce that Leon has joined the Versus team," said Versus executive vice president of programming, production and business operations Mark Fein. "Leon brings more than 25 years of live sports and studio production experience across a variety of sports to Versus and, as we look to continue the network's tremendous growth, Leon's expertise will ensure our viewers are watching the best on-air product possible."
