Continuing its recent acquisition push, Sci Fi Channel has picked up all 10 episodes of Touchstone Television’s remake of Night Stalker.
In addition to the seven episodes that aired on ABC this fall, Sci Fi -- which plans to schedule the series next summer -- will pick up three installments that never aired on the “Alphabet.”
The series -- a remake of the original Kolchak: The Night Stalker, which ran on ABC during the 1974-75 season -- faced tough competition in its most recent iteration, squaring off against CBS’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and NBC’s The Apprentice in the 9 p.m. Thursday time slot.
Last week, Sci Fi announced that it had acquired the off-network rights to NBC daytime drama Passions. Currently in its sixth season on its broadcast brother, Passions and its often out-of-this-world story lines will air on Sci Fi weekdays at 9 a.m. beginning Feb. 6.
Passions is produced by NBC Studios in association with Outpost Farms Productions Inc.
