`Scooby-Doo' Movie Scares Up Record Ratings For Cartoon Network

There's no mystery regarding the continued popularity of the 40-year old Scooby-Doo television franchise as Cartoon Network's Sept. 13 live-action movie featuring the mystery-solving gang set a ratings record for the channel.
Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins drew a network high 6.1 million viewers, easily outdistancing the previous high of 3.9 million viewers that tuned into last October's premiere of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, according to network officials.

The movie, which focused on the first time the Mystery Inc. teens and their dog Scooby Doo joined forces to solve their initial spooky whodunit, also set network record among kids 2 -11 (3 million viewers), kids 6-11 (2.2 million), kids 9-14 (1.8 million), boys 2-11 (1.9 million), and boys 6-11 (1.5 million).
Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins will be released on DVD on Sept. 22, according to network officials.
