Fox Interactive Media Thursday announced a definitive agreement to acquire Scout Media Inc.
Scout is the parent company of independent online-sports network Scout.com (www.scout.com) and Scout Publishing, producer of 47 local sports magazines.
News Corp.’s FIM manages the media giant’s interactive assets.
Scout founder and CEO Jim Heckman and president Patrick Crumb will retain their roles following the completion of the deal.
“With its insider, fan-based focus, Scout.com is an ideal complement to FOXSports.com’s [msn.foxsports.com] dedication to national coverage and is a perfect fit with our broadcast and cable properties on the local and national level,” FIM president Ross Levinsohn said in a prepared statement.
