Scripps Networks said Wednesday that it will launch an online network for the building industry.
HGTVPro.com (www.hgtv.com/hgtv/hgtv_pr) will debut with more than 100 videos and articles, and the programmer plans to add to and refresh the content regularly, including the addition of Spanish-language content by midyear.
The company said HGTVPro.com’s content was developed with professional builders, remodelers and contractors in mind, and it includes professional-level best practices, tips and techniques of the industry, new product information and an insider's perspective on trends in the industry.
The majority of the information is delivered in both video and downloadable print formats, making it easy to understand and to use, Scripps added.
A companion e-newsletter will be distributed bimonthly free-of-charge to opt-in subscribers, Scripps said, adding that more than 100,000 building-trade professionals and 500,000 home enthusiasts have already registered to receive the newsletter.
“The broadband technology of today lets us deliver information to the building trades in a way it could not be done before,” E.W. Scripps Co. CEO Ken Lowe said in a prepared statement.
“Rich video content allows HGTVPro.com to bridge communications gaps by providing information visually, the way most people learn best,” he added.
