Scripps Networks Interactive ad sales chief Steve Gigliotti is expanding his purview.
The programmer has elevated the veteran to chief revenue officer. Gigliotti, who has been serving as president of national ad sales and marketing, will be responsible for both ad revenue and content distribution in his new job.
The company said the move will help it take a coordinated approach as it looks to maximize revenue in a changing media landscape.
Gigliotti has led advertising sales for the lifestyle company, whose portfolio encompasses Food Network, HGTV, DIY Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and Great American Country and their attendant digital offshoots, for the past 15 years. He will continue to be based at Scripps Networks Interactive’s company headquarters in Tennessee, and reports to Scripps Networks president Burton Jablin.
“The business model for video-based content companies used to be very clearly defined, but as consumer options have multiplied, so have the number of business models,” said Jablin. “As a result, businesses have to take a much more coordinated approach to revenue generation if they are to take full advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Burton noted that Gigliotti “has a track record of unbroken success both at Scripps Networks Interactive, and in the wider television industry before that. His leadership skills and his analytical approach to strategy will enable us to best utilize the tremendous resources of our ad sales and distribution teams, to deliver even greater focus on maximizing revenues across all new and existing revenue streams.”
