Scripps Nets ‘Grill’ Up Themed Multiplatform Programming

Plying content from four services, Scripps Networks On Demand will launch its first multiplatform programming initiative in June under the heading, “Get Grillin.”

Home & Garden Television, Food Network, Do It Yourself and Fine Living will serve up fare on the outdoor grilling experience for Scripps Networks’ video-on-demand and broadband applications next month. The content ranges from short-form programming to long-form series and specials.

“The lifestyle focus of Scripps Networks’ programming lends itself well to themed compilations such as grilling because we combine segments from different episodes or series to create new titles unique to VOD and broadband,” senior vice president of emerging media Channing Dawson said in a prepared statement.

“We expect the format to be well-received among operators and broadband-service providers because of the flexibility it offers from a marketing perspective,” Dawson added.

Other programming themes ahead: “Outdoor Living” in July, “Endless Summer” in August and “A Month of Makeovers” in September.
