The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers said Wednesday that it is accepting nominations for the “Emerging Technologies” and “Young Engineer” awards.
The awards will be presented at the SCTE’s Conference on Emerging Technologies Jan. 11-13 in Huntington Beach, Calif.
The Emerging Technologies Awards -- sponsored by C-COR Inc., Cisco Systems Inc., CommScope Inc. and Reed Business Information (parent company of Multichannel News) -- honor leading cable-telecommunications engineers and managers who have advanced the industry through their commitments and efforts.
The Young Engineer award -- sponsored by RBI, Pace Micro Technology plc and the SCTE -- is presented to one engineering professional who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the telecommunications industry. The nominee must be under the age of 30 as of Dec. 31.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 29. They can be completed online (www.scte.org/membership/index.cfm?pID=153).
