SCTE: GFC Techs Are Certifiable

General Fiber Communications Inc. said Tuesday that 700 of its technicians have earned the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers’ “Broadband Premises Specialist” certification.

GFC said the Broadband Premises Specialist curriculum covers all aspects of the network from the distribution tap to the terminating device, including exterior and interior wiring; building construction; drop equipment; premises devices; safety; troubleshooting; repair; and customer service.

“We are grateful for the valuable knowledge resources provided by the SCTE, and we are proud to have the industry’s largest field force of SCTE-certified technicians,” GFC executive vice president of operations Barry Wilson said in a prepared statement.
