The Society of Cable and Telecommunications Engineers is
rebuilding its mission statement to focus on broader member issues.
The organization announced that it has revised its mission statement from
providing training, certification and standards for its engineering members to
focusing on professional development, information and standards.
The notable change is the discontinuation of engineering certification.
"The SCTE's board has given us a clear directive to expand our future course and
impact," president and CEO John Clark said in a release.
"As part of this new mission, we'll be surveying key industry decision makers
to identify their expectations of the society and ways the SCTE can deliver value to
their companies and engineering staffs," he added.
