SCTE Presents 2005 Awards

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers presented its awards Wednesday during its Conference on Emerging Technologies 2005 in Huntington Beach, Calif.

SCTE Hall of Fame member Dan Pike, chief technology officer at General Communication Inc., received the “2005 SCTE Chairman’s Award.”

And the trade group’s “Emerging Technologies Awards” went to Michael Emmendorfer, Donald Gall and Keith Hayes.

Charter Communications Inc. director of advanced network technologies Emmendorfer received the “IP Innovator Award,” Pangrac & Associates CTO Gall won the “Polaris Award” and Adelphia Communications Corp. vice president of hybrid fiber-coaxial technical operations and engineering Hayes was presented with the “Star of Integrity Award.”

On behalf of the winners, Cisco Systems Inc., CommScope Inc., Broadcasting & Cable, CED and Multichannel News collectively contributed $7,500 to the SCTE general operating fund, and C-COR Inc. contributed $2,500 to the SCTE Scholarship Fund.
