The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is now accepting
nominations for candidates to fill 10 open seats on its board of directors. Each
position has a two-year term.
Any member of the Society can nominate a candidate by completing and
submitting a nomination form available online at http://www.scte.org/membership/nomform.html.
The nomination deadline is Oct. 1.
Available positions include directors for:
\u0007 Region 3, representing Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington;
\u0007 Region 4, representing Oklahoma and Texas;
\u0007 Region 5, representing Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska;
\u0007 Region 7, representing Indiana, Michigan and Ohio;
\u0007 Region 8, representing Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and
\u0007 Region 10, representing the District of Columbia, Kentucky, North Carolina,
Virginia and West Virginia;
\u0007 Region 12, representing Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
New York, Rhode Island and Vermont;
\u0007 Two at-large positions, representing the entire membership; and
\u0007 At-large-Canada, representing Canada.
Eligible candidates must be active SCTE members who have been members of the
organization for the past three years and reside within the region they will
represent. In addition, according to the society's bylaws, no more than three
employees from one company will be allowed to sit on the board during the same
The SCTE's nominations subcommittee will review all nominations and recommend
a slate of candidates for approval by the board of directors by Nov. 15.
Election ballots will be mailed to all voting members in January, and
profiles of each candidate will be available online at www.scte.org.
