The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers has put together two panels for the upcoming National Show.
SCTE CEO John Clark will moderate "When the Bits Go Marching In: Transitioning to All Digital" Sunday, May 2, from 3:15 p.m.-4:15 p.m. The panel will focus on necessary steps to complete the transition to all-digital, the impact on cable’s infrastructure, solutions for legacy support issues and the competitive and regulatory pressures that are accelerating the transition.
Panelists include: Michael LaJoie, Time Warner Cable; Tony Werner, Liberty Media Corp.; Yvette Gordon-Kanouff, SeaChange International Inc.; Christopher Bowick, Cox Communications Inc.; and David Fellows, Comcast Cable Communications Inc.
And "Latin America New Technology and Services Update" will be presented in Spanish Monday, May 3 from 3:45 p.m.-5 p.m. This session will focus on different aspects of the digital triple-play rollout of digital video, voice and data in Latin America, as well as how different projects have confronted various challenges such as back office, technical operations and engineering.
Moderated by HFC Net president Max Morales, the panel will include Eduardo Stigol, CEO, Intercable (Venezuela); German Iaryczower, regional director of sales, Arris Group Inc.; and David Evert, business-development manager, Cisco Systems Inc.
