SCTV Looking for Laughs

Stand-Up Comedy Television will hold auditions for talent next week in Chicago that will help the fledgling network to create six original shows.

The network, slated to launch in January, is holding open auditions for comedians, news anchors and animated voice artists July 7-8 at its Studio Stages and headquarters in the Windy City.

Executive producers, directors and writers, along with the network’s creative advisory-council members, will be on hand to evaluate prospects for shows, including: The Big Break, a search for the nation’s next comedic superstar; Nightly Comedy News, the network’s daily news show; and Animation Nation, which will showcase the next generation of cartoons.
