SeaChange Adds ‘Windows Media 9’ Support

SeaChange International Inc. announced that its video-on-demand servers will
be able to support the "Windows Media 9 Series" media player from Microsoft

The integration means SeaChange will be able to deliver VOD content to either
TVs or PCs.

The company said broadband-service providers deliver more simultaneous
streams over the same networks compared with MPEG-2 (Moving Picture Expert
Group) delivery.

"Windows Media 9 Series enables SeaChange's VOD platform to deliver the
highest-quality video using low bandwidth, which helps to open new business
opportunities for programming," Microsoft director of Windows digital-media
division Jonathan Usher said in a prepared statement.
