SeaChange International promoted Steven Davi to senior vice president of advanced technology and head of the office of the CTO.
Davi, a 13-year company veteran, most recently served as head of SeaChange's back office business unit as senior vice president of software engineering. In the new role, Davi is responsible for SeaChange's overall software technology architecture and will help implement the company strategy as it relates to product design and system architectures.
"Steve is the right person to lead the company to a single, cost-efficient software platform for multiscreen solutions scalable to millions of mobile, PC and set-top viewers," SeaChange president Yvette Kanouff said in a statement. "His technical expertise and strategic business savvy will keep SeaChange as the operators' choice for next-gen video software for multiscreen, back office, advertising and in-home applications. I'm especially excited about Steve's unique blend of IP and Web-centric architectural beliefs combined with his deep knowledge of traditional networks."
Acton, Mass.-based SeaChange last month introduced the Andrenalin platform, its fourth generation back-office system, designed to incorporate Web-centric features and support for millions of subscribers and video assets.
Since joining SeaChange in 1997 as a software architect, Davi has served in various engineering management positions. Prior to joining SeaChange, Davi worked at network operating system software company Banyan Systems and served in various engineering positions in Data General's networking division.
