SeaChange, icueTV Link Up For T-Commerce

Extending a push into "shopping-on-demand," SeaChange International will integrate its Watch & Buy video-on-demand T-commerce application with icueTV's transaction and fulfillment services platform to let cable subscribers buy DVDs and related merchandise.

Using SeaChange's Watch & Buy application, DVD versions of on-demand movies can be purchased on-screen and shipped to the viewer's home, or digital versions can be downloaded to a PC or mobile device.

SeaChange Watch & Buy is available as a free upgrade for the company's active VODlink customers. Watch & Buy includes a lightweight set-top application, user interface customization and fully managed back-end order fulfillment. The platform will provide e-commerce capabilities across mobile and PC devices in the future, according to the company.

"The integration between SeaChange and icueTV opens the way for television operators to launch TV commerce by directly integrating a fulfillment solution with our VODlink applications platform, which is already deployed in millions of homes around the world," Anthony Landamia, SeaChange's general manager of advanced applications, said in a statement.

Cherry Hill, N.J.-based icueTV previously announced a partnership with Comcast Media Center to offer icueTV's applications to cable operator customers through its HITS Advanced Interactive Services suite.
