SeaChange Launches New Server

SeaChange International Inc. is debuting a new video-on-demand server at the
Western Show, capable of delivering 300 Digital Video Broadcasting-Asynchronous
Serial Interface video streams, or 2,000 movies at 3 megabits per second to
3,000 digital subscribers.

The new 'ITV MediaCluster 9000' (IMC 9000) seven-inch video server offers two
new advancements, SeaChange said.

First, the video server provides throughput of up to 930 megabits per second
in various output formats. Thus, 10 units would stand 72 inches tall and provide
3,100 DVB-ASI video streams, supporting 30,000 or more digital subscribers. The
IMC 9000 has 12 disk drives capable of storing 72 gigabits of data.

Second, the IMC 9000 can provide Internet-protocol-video output, offering
further improvements in streaming efficiency of 40 percent, SeaChange
said.
