Kelsey Grammer will be back as Starz's Boss on August 17.

The premium network has set the date for the second-season return of the Grammer-starrer in which he portrays fictional Chicago Mayor Tom Kane, who must overcome a medical mix of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's that is crippling his mind and body, while attempting to stay in control of the city and his family.
Grammer, who won the Golden Globe, while Boss garnered a best drama nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, will again be joined by Connie Nielsen, Hannah Ware, Jeff Hephner, Kathleen Robertson, Troy Garity and Rotimi.

Joining the ensemble cast as regulars this season: Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, Glee) as Ian Todd, a smart and ambitious young advisor to Kane, and Sanaa Lathan (Nip/Tuck, A Raisin in the Sun), Alderman Ross's strong-willed and politically savvy chief of staff. Special guest star Tip Harris, the rapper known as T.I. (American Gangster, Takers), will be featured as Trey, a former gangbanger with designs on a career in City Hall. Additional guest stars include Amy Morton (Up in the Air, Private Practice) as state senator Catherine Walsh, who has been defeated in her bid for governor three times, but is now determined win.
