Thousands of Time Warner Cable subscribers in Orange County and the South Bay area of Los Angeles County missed the end of the World Series Wednesday night due to equipment failure, AP reported.

The malfunction occurred at about 8 p.m. (PST) Wednesday, before Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox had finished off their 1-0, series-clinching victory over the Houston Astros, according to AP. Service was expected to be restored by midnight.

“We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience to our customers, and especially on such a historic night like this for baseball,” Time Warner spokesman Deane Leavenworth told AP.
